Government Leading by Example

The Idaho Office of Energy Resources (OER) is accepting applications from rural cities and counties that want to save energy in existing public buildings. Approved applicants will receive a building energy audit which will identify energy saving opportunities, and may qualify for some cost-share funding on energy efficient retrofits. A list of Idaho cities and counties that are eligible for OER funding is located in the Resources section on OER’s website under Government Leading by Example Overview.

The University of Idaho Integrated Design Lab will assist the OER in identifying energy saving opportunities in approved city and county-owned buildings. The Integrated Design Lab is dedicated to the development of high performance energy efficient buildings in the Intermountain West through research, education and outreach efforts.

Eligible cities and counties will fill out an application  and OER will evaluate submissions for program eligibility.  Once approved, the applicant will benchmark the approved building in Portfolio Manager (with assistance from OER) and will receive a building audit from the University of Idaho Integrated Design Lab. Contact OER for more information.
