Two sets of awards will be offered annually:
State of Idaho´s Award for Excellence in Energy Efficiency
This award will recognize up to five facilities that best demonstrate energy efficiency by reducing energy intensity (EI) within their plant. The reductions in EI must correspond with the energy efficiency projects listed in the application or within the attached supporting documentation. A maximum of two facilities per corporation may receive an award, unless no additional applicants qualify. Every facility that applies for this award will also be considered for the Governor´s Award for Leadership in Energy Efficiency.
For facilities that do not achieve a reduction in energy intensity (such as newly constructed facilities) or plants that do not believe energy intensity accurately captures the practices implemented, please provide up to ten pages of documentation (or provide a presentation) supporting the measures taken within the facility in improving energy efficiency. Please include any certifications achieved or standards followed (e.g. LEED, ISO 500001). These facilities will also be considered for the annual Governor´s award.
The Idaho Governor´s Award for Leadership in Energy Efficiency
The single facility that best exemplifies a commitment to energy efficiency will be selected to receive this award. The award will recognize the facility that goes above and beyond in energy efficiency promotion and implementation. Reductions in energy intensity and other factors will be considered for this award. Examples would include facilities that have initiated new energy management and awareness programs, completed new capital projects, commitment to a long term reduction goals, or participated in regional or national programs, such as the Department of Energy´s Better Buildings, Better Plants Program. Please provide details in the comments section of the application and attach additional pages if needed.
